Lana Fitt, Manager for Salmon Arm Economic Development Society spoke to the club on Sept 11, explaining the Society's role in the community and its mandate.
SAEDS is a non-profit society that is under contract with the City of Salmon Arm to provide economic development services for our community. SAEDS is governed by an inclusive and diverse Board of Directors comprised of business leaders of the major sectors of our economy.
The mandate of the organization is to:
Support and provide services to existing businesses
Attract new businesses to the community, and
Assist in developing strategies and programs to foster economic development and prosperity

Through its programs such as Launch-a-preneur, the Municipal and Regional District Tax, and the Salmon Arm Branding Project, the society promotes business retention and attraction in Salmon Arm.
