Mary Jackson, past president of the Vernon Kalamalka Rotary Club, spoke to us today about the Vernon Starfish Pack program, which their club started in April 2016 with 20 children at one school. A year later, they are feeding  67 children in six schools for the weekend. The children are sent home each Friday with enough food for two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners, snacks and three pieces of fruit. The program is funded by donors from the business and private community.  The cost is $525 per year per child.  Learn more at  starfishpack.com .
