After making a presentation to our club last July, the Days for Girls Kamloops Chapter requested monetary support for a proposed trip to Costa Rica to distribute Days for Girls kits to women and girls in marginalized communities. Our club donated $2,500 to support the group's endeavours. In November, we received a warm thank you for that support. Following are pictures and a portion of the thank-you letter sent by Director Terry-Lynn Stone.
"Thanks to the Club’s support, our team was able to distribute 300 Days for Girls kits during two impactful events. The first distribution took place at the maternal clinic in Cimarrons, where women were deeply moved by the beauty and practicality of the kits. The second distribution occurred in a remote village near Siquirres, where the need was equally pressing. Women and girls in this isolated community face significant challenges in accessing menstrual health products."
"The Salmon Arm Rotary Club’s contribution not only provided tangible support but also sent a powerful message of care and solidarity across borders. By helping to fund these distributions, they enabled women and girls to attend school, work, and participate fully in their communities without interruption or stigma.
To the Salmon Arm Rotary Club, thank you for your commitment to creating a positive and lasting impact. Your generosity has touched lives, opened doors, and inspired hope in ways that words can scarcely express. "
