On Sunday February 12, members of the Shuswap Agricultural Association met with RCMP representative Staff Sergeant Major [Ret] RCMP Musical Ride Tour Planner, Marc Dureau, at the Fairgrounds to discuss plans for the upcoming Musical Ride. May 23, 2023 marks 150 years since a bill passed through Parliament and received Royal Assent establishing the North-West Mounted Police, which would eventually become the RCMP.
Salmon Arm will host this prestigious event with one performance on July 1, Canada Day, and two performances on July 2. Meeting with Staff Sergeant Dureau are Star MacGregor (Shuswap Agricultural Association) and Rob Niewenhuizen (City of Salmon Arm) on Dureau's left. Phil Wright (Shuswap Agricultural Association) and Garry Hoffart (Rotary) are on his right.
