We have enjoyed hearing from two interesting speakers on July 17 and 24. Valerie Rogers, an award -winning nature artist and resident of Salmon Arm brought a selection of her paintings and explained how her passion for nature and wildlife helps her to create lifelike paintings. She has been awarded BC Wildlife Federation Artist of the Year twice. Her most recent notable success is winning the 2023-24 prestigious Pacific Salmon Stamp competition. She is shown above with Rotarian Hazel Nevrkla and her painting, Vantage Point.
Our second engaging speaker, on July 24, was Susan Mackie, General Manager of R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum. She gave updates on the Montebello completion, Children’s Discovery Centre, the outdoor play area, the Sprig of Heather Patio Restaurant, the Dinner Theatre and many special events such as the Car Show, Dinner Theatre, Spooktacular and the Fall Harvest.

Here is Susan with Rotarian Isabel Reinertson, who introduced and thanked her.

Next Monday, July 31, we will welcome Marjolein Lloyd, District Governor 2023-24, from Kelowna Sunrise, who will meet with and speak to our club regarding her focus for the upcoming Rotary year.
