On Monday, Nov 1, Julia Beatty and Frederick Vroom from Shuswap Climate Action gave an impassioned presentation on our changing climate, focusing largely on the Shuswap. They illustrated how individuals and governments can act now to mitigate the accelerating changes.
In the Shuswap, climate change is reflected in the increasing temperatures: 1.4C during the day, and 3.1C nighttime. Club members were encouraged to make small changes in lifestyles to work towards solutions: don't let the car idle, walk or cycle if possible, install heat pumps.
