Alex Galvez of Transitions Foundation in Guatemala showed this organization in action as he spoke from a wheelchair distribution centre in Guatemala. While he was telling the club about the foundation, all around him were children in wheelchairs, who, with their parents, were picking up their chairs and having them adapted and checked so that they fit each individual child.
Transitions is a unique organization that offers wheelchairs and prosthetics to children and adults, who would not otherwise be able to have them. The chairs are also adapted to the terrain, and the prosthetics are replaced as the children grow. Forever grateful to those who helped him overcome a tragic accident many years ago, Alex believes that helping others is "just the right thing to do."
