Our most successful Project Amigo Student, Estrella Rubi Cardenas Radillo, has graduated from high school and completed her primary education goals.  Following is a copy of a letter from Project Amigo, which was accompanied by some pictures of the graduation.  Thanks to Hazel Nevrkla for translating the letter.

Hello, dear friends Coleman and Patricia, and all the members of the Rotary Club of Salmon Arm!

Through this email, I want to inform you that your goddaughter, Estrella Rubi Cárdenas Radillo, has successfully completed her 12th grade with a final GPA of 8.9. We are deeply delighted that she has achieved this important academic goal.

However, we want to inform you that Estrella has decided not to continue her university studies and is therefore withdrawing from the scholarship program.

Over the past few months, we have noticed important changes in her personal life, as she made the decision to move in with her partner. Despite these changes, her academic performance has remained steady. As part of the support we provide through Proyecto Amigo, we held conversations with both her and her mother to establish agreements and motivate her to continue her studies. Even so, Estrella decided to step back and close this cycle.

However, we are proud to know that she successfully completed high school. We had the privilege of being represented at her graduation ceremony by my colleague Zeidy, our psychologist, who congratulated her on behalf of all of you and us. She also expressed how proud we are of her achievements.

We are convinced that the support you gave her left a significant mark on her life. Thanks to your support, Estrella completed middle school, advanced to high school, and faced challenges with greater self-confidence.

That achievement is also yours! And we are proud to have witnessed her growth process.

Thank you for every word of encouragement you have given her over the years. Without a doubt, you have been a very important part of her story.

With gratitude and love, please accept a big hug!
