Days for Girls is a world wide organization that gives  young women access to good menstrual care and education. In many rural communities in third world countries, girls miss many days of school during their menstrual cycle.  Days for Girls began as a volunteer-run organization. What began in November 2008 as a small yet passionate group of women has rapidly grown into a robust network of more than 50,000 volunteers around the globe.   Today, Days for Girls has reached more than one million women and girls in 125+ countries with Days for Girls  kits and menstrual health education. This translates into over 115 million days of dignity, health, and opportunity!
Over the last three years our Rotary Club has donated funds to the Kelowna Chapter for the preparation of kits; most recently we contributed $500 for kits to Rwanda. The above photo shows Debra Brosseuk of A Better World Canada with a group of young Rwandan women who have just received their kits in January. The girls were thrilled to receive them!
