NEW GENERATIONS, a term coined by Past RI President Luis Vincente Giay in 1996, refers to the youngest generation in the family of Rotary. Most are participants in Rotary's  youth and young adult programs: Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) and Rotary Youth Exchange.

New Generations Service became Rotary's Fifth Avenue of Service in 2010. It recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities, involvement in community and  international service projects, and exchange programs that enrich and foster world peace and cultural understanding.

The Rotary Club of Salmon Arm has been actively involved the the Rotary Youth Exchange Program since 1972. Through this program, students from Salmon Arm have travelled around the world staying with host families for a year to gain valuable life experience. In return, we have welcomed students from many different countries to experience life in Canada and Salmon Arm.

Following is a list of the students the Salmon Arm Rotary Clubs have sponsored and hosted since 1971. There is also a document with pictures, saved over the years by member Maartin Albricht.
